How to Get There

The closest airport to Rayavadee is Krabi International Airport (KBV), which is serviced by numerous airlines from all over the world. From the airport, it's a quick 25-minute drive to the pier, followed by a 20-minute boat ride to the hotel. The hotel is built on an old coconut plantation, situated between breathtaking limestone cliffs and is only accessible by boat.

Rayavadee Hotel is situated within the breathtakingly beautiful Phra Nang Peninsula, with three beaches within walking distance. The resort is surrounded by lush gardens, a coconut grove, and dramatic limestone cliffs, creating a natural haven for relaxation and rejuvenation. The hotel offers 98 luxurious accommodations, including Deluxe Pavilions, Terrace Pavilions, Spa Pavilions, Hydro Pool Pavilions, Family Pavilions, and luxurious Villas. All rooms are decorated in traditional Thai style with modern amenities, and some feature private pools and outdoor Jacuzzis. The entry level room here is a Deluxe Pavilion which is a two-story, treehouse style villa complete with 1 and a half bathrooms.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Rayavadee is from November to April, when the weather is dry and sunny. The monsoon season runs from May to October, with occasional heavy rains and thunderstorms, making outdoor activities less enjoyable. However, visiting during the low season can also have its advantages, such as fewer crowds and lower room rates.

Activities

Rayavadee offers a plethora of activities to keep guests entertained, both on land and in the water. The hotel has a fitness center, tennis courts, and a rock climbing wall, as well as yoga and Pilates classes. Guests can also explore the stunning surroundings with activities such as hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, and scuba diving. For a more relaxing experience, indulge in a traditional Thai massage at the hotel's spa, which features private treatment rooms, a steam room, and a sauna.

For those looking to explore more of the surrounding islands, Rayavadee is situated just 35 minutes by speedboat from the Phi Phi Islands - day trips with private speedboat can be arranged to see the popular sites in this area including Maya Bay, Monkey Beach, Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh.

One of our favorite activities while staying here was watching the mischievous monkeys that live on the property - make sure to keep your room door closed!

Dining Options

Rayavadee boasts four restaurants, each offering a unique culinary experience. Raya Dining serves contemporary Thai cuisine in an elegant setting, while Krua Phranang offers Thai and international dishes in a more casual atmosphere. Raitalay Terrace is the perfect spot for beachside cocktails and people-watching as the day-trippers visiting Railay Beach depart via long tail boat back to their hotels.

These restaurants were all fabulous, however the highlight of our trip was dinner at The Grotto (available for hotel guests only).

The Grotto Restaurant at Rayavadee Hotel is a unique dining experience that combines the stunning natural surroundings with a beachside atmosphere. Set in a natural limestone cave beside the ocean, this restaurant offers a unique ambiance that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. It was the perfect place to sit and enjoy a refreshing drink and delicious meal while watching the sunset and listening to live musicians playing violin and saxophone in the limestone cave.
